Our Story

Care That Comes
From the Heart

Lumivara was founded on a simple belief — that growing older should not mean growing apart from warmth, purpose, and the things that matter most.

Who We Are

A Facility Built Around People, Not Protocols

Lumivara opened its doors in Rawai, Phuket in 2015. The founding team — a group of healthcare workers and family members who had personally navigated the challenges of finding quality elder care — wanted to create something different: a place that felt like a genuine home rather than a clinical setting.

Over the years we have grown steadily, adding care tiers that allow families to find exactly the right level of support — whether that is a structured social day program, full residential living, or skilled nursing care. Throughout this growth, we have held to the same principle: every resident deserves to be known as a person, not a patient.

Situated in the quiet residential area of Rawai, our facility benefits from Phuket's gentle climate and lush surroundings. Garden spaces, natural light, and a genuine community atmosphere shape the daily experience of everyone who lives and works here.

Our Mission

To provide attentive, dignified residential care that honours the individuality of each person and supports the wellbeing of the families who entrust us with someone they love.

Our Vision

A community where ageing is met with curiosity and care — where residents are active participants in their own days, surrounded by people who genuinely look forward to seeing them.

Our Values

  • · Dignity in every interaction
  • · Patience as a daily practice
  • · Transparency with families
  • · Continuous learning among staff
  • · A sense of home over an institution

Our Standards

How We Keep the Bar High

From nursing protocols to data privacy, Lumivara maintains clear standards across every area of our operation.

Registered Nursing Care

All nursing staff hold current Thai nursing council registrations. Protocols are reviewed and updated alongside national geriatric care guidelines.

Personalised Care Plans

Each resident receives a written care plan reviewed quarterly or following any change in condition. Families are invited to participate in review meetings.

Safety & Emergency Preparedness

Emergency response procedures are practised regularly by all staff. Medical equipment is maintained and inspected on a scheduled basis throughout the year.

Privacy & Data Protection

Resident health information is handled in accordance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act. Access is limited and all records are stored securely.

Ongoing Staff Development

All care staff participate in regular training including dementia awareness, first aid renewal, communication skills, and cultural sensitivity workshops.

Nutrition & Dietary Care

Menus are designed with input from a nutritional consultant. Special dietary requirements including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified meals are accommodated routinely.

Residential Elder Care in Phuket — A Considered Approach

Finding the right residential care arrangement for an older family member involves weighing many factors — proximity, cost, care quality, and the feeling of a place itself. Lumivara was designed with all of these considerations in mind, situated in the accessible and peaceful Rawai district of Phuket, where established healthcare infrastructure and natural surroundings come together.

Our three service levels — Social Day Program, Residential Comfort, and Intensive Care Residence — reflect the reality that care needs vary widely and change over time. Families choosing Lumivara benefit from knowing that transitions between levels happen within the same familiar environment, with the same staff and routines that residents have come to trust.

The team at Lumivara includes registered nurses, trained care assistants, a resident coordinator, nutritional support staff, and activity facilitators. This breadth of expertise means that residents are not transferred for routine needs; daily life here is self-contained and thoughtfully resourced. For families living abroad or elsewhere in Thailand, our coordinator serves as a steady, reliable point of contact who provides honest, regular updates.

Thai culture's deep respect for elders aligns naturally with Lumivara's values. Our staff bring warmth, patience, and attentiveness that goes beyond technical training — qualities that make a tangible difference in daily life. We take the responsibility placed in us seriously, and we are grateful to the many families who have chosen to walk this path with us.
